Brandon Racine joined the school board staff in September and is one of more than 80 news hires to Comox Valley Schools. Brandon's background in accounting and finance, as well as his educational experience both as a former student in the District and at North Island College, is a welcome addition to the payroll team.
Sally Podmore, a Cumberland Community School (CCS) parent and CCS Society Board member spent her summer brightening up the entrance of the Strathcona (Elementary) building to create a cheerful mural. Her project also involved the generous donation of supplies, time and energy from the community and fellow parent volunteers. In the mural are little hidden gems. A former Mark R. Isfeld Secondary student, Michelle Adebar, shares her experience coming back to the school district after graduating in 2018 for a summer student work program opportunity.
